The ONLY thing it has going for it is it's large size for free / low cost. For me, it's not worth it due to the PAINFULLY slow speeds. When I tried the free version I thought " Oh wow, yeah this sucks I'll pay for that "Premium Quick Upload privileges" as they call it... The quickest I saw it get to was 1.87MB/s... I know this isn't a bottleneck on my end because I'm writing from an SSD M.2 drive and my upload speed normally is around 35MB/s when I run a speed test. Maybe it's because they are located in china, I don't know. I just know for speeds THIS slow it's just not worth it.
OH also, read their privacy contract, it used to be bad with them saying they "may share your data" etc. Well, now they tell you that they "may" use any data on the server to train their AI. I'm staying far away.
Maybe it's not always as fast as other alternatives on the market.
But if you have the time, it's reliable and free.
It is possible to upload to the cloud directly through a .torrent file, bypassing the download to the PC
Also at the moment there are some bugs and defects.
This application belongs to the company Baidu China, which is not to be trusted. When Dubox is no longer in beta, money will be asked for or the transfer speed will be reduced. Baidu China once had another cloud storage app that gave 2TB and claimed to be permanently free, until it stopped being so. So, the Dubox service and the company that created it can't be trusted.
