The smallest sync, backup, folder monitor and timer sync program available anywhere on earth. The main exe is 1 MB and the folder monitor program is 600 KB. Supports up to Windows 10, please read the English.txt note.

No other program extent can do realtime sync and timer sync by itself without setting up another scheduler, but DSynchronize can. Sure, all settings are cluttered on one screen but you can't accuse it of hiding menus as in many other programs. About the only important feature missing is that DSynchronize doesn't appear to support backup to destination zip or 7z compression formats.

DSynchronize comes in 2 editions.
Installer by developer "Dimio"
Authorised portable by PortableApps.com

This AltTo.net blurb stand alone statement implies "portability" ...
but the "Website" link lands at developer's website, and not PortableApps.com ?

I will investigate further and report back here ... soon

Very dissapointing, I had high hopes ~~after 2 days of investigation~~

The website is ancient, no updating by developer.
"Back up to Floppy discs, CD-DVDs" ... hardly inspiring for Win-10/8/7
No mention of system requirements anywhere on the web site. To determine sys.reqs ...
.. download the ZIP - Extract the contents ... in the extracted folder find { DSynchronize (ENG).txt }
.. sys.reqs are buried in the heart of the download

Some SHORTCOMINGS that turned me off this program
-- Menubar - File - Change INI file (item) ... does not open INI file
-- one window of help, HotKeys + Command parameters only
-- no INSTRUCTIONS how to use it NOR what the options represent
-- home page promotes FLOPPY DISCS, + CD-DVD for backups ... ( page has not been updated into 2nd millenium
-- all settings are on the GUI ... all 135 of them

  • ( no links to help
  • ( no popup hints to help
  • ( no online help

-- no email help that I can find
-- no history log

DSynchronize will possibly work ...
BUT I am not prepared to gamble my data on an unsupported program

What is DSynchronize?

DSynchronize is a stand-alone utility that let you periodically synchronize two or more folders on Hard Disk, Floppy Disk, LAN, USB Key, CD-DVD (with packet writing software) and FTP server. It is also possible to specify the time and the day to schedule the synchronization to run, and to create some additional "filters" for other factors. Real-Time sync is also supported. English + 11 languages; DSynchronize for Windows NT/2000/XP/VISTA: only ca 100 KB

None of Dimios programs use an installer (compressed into the zip file, there is only the executable and documentation). Nor does Dimios software write anything into the Windows Registry.
