DJ.Studio has been a lifesaver for me.
I was a radio DJ in the late-80s, which was the last time I sat behind anything that resembled decks. Inspired by listening to mixes on Mixcloud for the past couple of years, I was determined to clean up my MP3 collection and start throwing out some mixes of my own. I enlisted the aid of Mixed in Key and Platinum Notes to do so, as well.
With the collection (mostly) cleaned up, I began the search for the right software to begin mixing my dream...

High rate of adding new features all you need to make great mixes and mash-ups. Nice and simple user interface. Great support team, makes you feel almost a friend instead of customer. Good integration with mixed in key and lots of music sources. I like it very much.

This software is unreal. For me the navigation along the mix is one of the best features, it's so easy to move around, zoom in on a transition, make my changes and move to the next. The default transitions are amazing and give you a solid foundation on which to then add custom automation, effects and manual changes. We all know mixes can be laborious if you do them from the controller but with DJ.Studio I now can't wait to start a new mix each time. So happy I found this software, thank you team.
About one month ago I was looking for a DJ-less music solution for my wife's 48-birthday celebration. Some years ago I was into Virtual DJ but I found that it was designed for full-fledged DJ's, where you cannot create mixes and let them play-and-forget (as far as I know). I don't really remember how I got to DJ Studio site, probably after reading some reviews. I downloaded and started to test the app. I was mesmerized by the ease of usage and the results I got. On the second day of testing I purchased the DJStudio + Stems Separation + Mixed-In-Key extension. Finally I created four 30-minutes length mixes in about two days, with no DJ knowledge at all. The crowd could not believe I did that. Many guys asked me how I did that: "Transitions are so smooth!", "How did you put the voice of xxxxx in the middle of the next song!!??"... It was an absolutely successful dance party! All thanks to DJStudio.

With the collection (mostly) cleaned up, I began the search for the right software to begin mixing my dream compilations so that I could become the superstar DJ I always knew I could be. But with most software packages seeming to be reliant on having a DJ controller, which means having a steep learning curve for someone like me, as well as seemingly prohibitive subscription costs to get all the bells and whistles, I was coming up short with potential options.
And then I came across a couple of reviews for DJ.Studio. And I watched a few of the instructional/promotional YouTube videos hosted by Siebrand with his inimitable enthusiasm for his product, and I decided to take the plunge and purchase a permanent licence. (It may seem expensive compared to some of the competitors, but I’ll get to that.)
I have not been disappointed since.
What I have found is that DJ.Studio is a very powerful tool for making pre-recorded mixes for uploading. As the bumpf goes, it is a DAW for DJs. And I find the DAW approach more logical for someone like me – it takes a fraction of the time to pull a mix together than recording it live with warts and all (or having to start over again).
Right ‘out of the box’ I was able to begin throwing mixes up to Mixcloud. Ok, so I still have a long way to go to learn how to do it right, but DJ.Studio takes all the harder parts out of the picture and allows one to think about the more creative aspects of song transitions more. (Also, DJ.Studio integrates directly with Mixcloud for uploads, taking all of the hassle out of having to upload a separate cue sheet/track list – which, I see, vexes more seasoned DJs than I.)
So, what do I love about DJ.Studio (besides the above)? With the basic instruction videos, there is a very low threshold to entry for someone like me. I can begin creating amazing mixes without having to go through the rigamarole of learning both hardware and software.
Out of the box, DJ.Studio provides a lot of functionality (which I have yet to fully exploit due to my limited technical knowledge of DJing) that other packages offer as part of a premium subscription. Such as stem separation at transitions (which is a game-changer for my mixing lately).
The team at DJ.Studio are incredibly responsive to support queries and suggestions. I have to say I have not encountered any other software support team as responsive as DJ.Studio’s. They will get back to you almost immediately during business hours, and many times outside of business hours, too. And they are constantly innovating based on what the market and their users demand. They easily push out 3-4 updates a week.
The pricing…One may balk at the up-front price for DJ.Studio for a perpetual licence, but that perpetual licence gives you pretty much close to the same functionality of Serato’s and Rekordbox’s premium levels without having to lay out more money or to buy a controller to unlock. And compared to both Serato’s and Rekordbox’s pricing structure (sans compatible controller), DJ.Studio is a bargain.
I could gush even more about DJ.Studio, but I’ll leave it at this: If you really want to express yourself as a DJ, you can’t go wrong with including DJ.Studio as part of your first steps into the world of DJing.
Thank you for reading my blog post. :-)

Finally, a DAW has come along that fills the gap left behind by Mixmeister. If you are looking to create DJ mix without dedicated DJ’ing equipment and are a little overwhelmed and intimidated by Professional Studio DAW’s like Ableton Live. DJ Studio is here to save the day for those looking to create top quality DJ mixes.
Whether you are looking for the app to quickly auto mix a selection of tracks for you or you want to carefully curate a mix and fine tune each transition between tracks yourself. DJ Studio provides you with the ability to do both with a host of other features as well.
With its clean UI and intuitive workflows, both complete novices and experienced DJs should feel right at home using the app and everyone should be able to create their first DJ mix easily after first opening up the app.
With the ability to import from streaming sites to upload your tracks and then export your finished DJ mix to other apps such as YouTube and Mixcloud. Things have come on a great deal since Mixmeister and with new features being added all the time. I see no reason why DJ Studio won’t be industry standard for those looking to create DJ mixes on a computer that don’t have the means to pay for Ableton Live or the knowledge to use it.
Every DJ application lives and dies by how accurate its beat gridding tracking capability is. I’m pleased to say DJ Studio is excellent and rarely have I ever had the need to make manual adjustments.
I also appreciate that fact that the app is not resource intensive on your computer and has a low cost entry point.
In short, looking for a simple application to create a pro DJ mix for you or an experienced DJ that wants to create the absolute perfect mix away from the decks. Buy DJ Studio!
