What is Acetate?

Acetate is a desktop program for techno and house music producers and DJs. It analyzes single tracks or two-hour sets and suggests a processing chain suitable for club play, streaming, or critical listening. The software provides details about the changes made and lets users preview the processed audio before exporting.

Acetate can handle extensive DJ mixes on its own. It analyzes the audio level at each transition and renders the set without segmentation or reimportation into a DAW. Users can drag and drop audio files in WAV, AIFF, FLAC, or MP3 format. The software records recent masters, displaying their loudness gain and the style selected.

Acetate allows users to select a 10-30 second window to preview mastered sections before finalizing the track. It provides an A/B comparison tool that overlays the mastered waveform over the original for visual and audible comparison. The software generates a report for each master, detailing the analysis results and modifications. Acetate operates locally, ensuring that audio files stay on the user's computer unless they choose to publish them on platforms like SoundCloud. It supports exporting in WAV, FLAC, or MP3 formats. Acetate costs $63, including one free master, and has a 14-day refund policy.
