What is Cutfac?

Cutfac is a Mac app for people who want short-form videos without learning a video editor. There are no editing tools to master. You select a few seconds, draw a box on what's off, and type the change. Your own coding agent (Claude Code or Codex) makes the edit.

Ask for a few versions at once and they play side by side with the original, so you keep the one you like. Every change can be undone, and the History tab keeps each saved version.

Paste a link to your site or app and Cutfac learns what you sell and how you talk. The hook, pacing and captions that worked become your own format for the next video.

Projects are plain folders and YAML on your Mac. Videos are rendered locally with ffmpeg, and nothing is uploaded to Cutfac. The AI runs on your own Claude or ChatGPT plan, so there is no second AI bill.

Cutfac is open source under AGPL-3.0. The signed, notarized app is free for your first 3 videos per Mac, then $19/month or $180/year. You can also build it from source.
