Well.

originally I wanna upload files to google drive and be protected. At first I use cryptomator alone, which is FOSS, and aes256. With ctmt, i can download each file individually. not a whole 4TB or 4GB bundle of files.

But I am a paranoid. I need 2nd layer of protection. For this i use cryptsync. cryptsync files into INDIVIDUAL *.7z (aes256), then put on ctmt-encrypted google drive. Good point is: again I can dnld each file individually, not a whole 4TB/4GB bundle of files.

ctmt have short coming: not yet support files 4GB (due to windows native webdav). it can upload/dnld by cyberduck, but only for storage.

for me, i wanna play the movie from google drive. in this, boxcryptor (commercial, close source) work-ed. just the free version dunt hide the name and google know which porn star is my favorite.

ps: cryptsync is short of buggy... suggested by others. in my 1st trial, i deleted some files in the target folder in the "one way" config. however in my source folder, some files SEEMS to be deleted. in the trash can, i only found files from the target folder!!! it's strange becoz if I wrongly delete from the source, the trash can shd also have it.

so finally, being forced to work with this buggy cryptsync.

I work this way:

real source of file-- make a 1st copy of files, cryptsync into 7.zip, test decrypt in another hdd. then beyond compare to the 1st copy.

yeah it take 5 steps to do so. and in each trial, the files in test-decrypt folder are deleted, to make sure the 7.zip are really working.

ok. found that the oneway is for "sync" only. for add/delete files the "oneway" option is not working

as of today septemper 16 , 2013 cryptsync is buggy. when linked to dropbox it causes dropbox to constantly update files ( no files is actually changed ).

What is Cryptsync?

CryptSync is a small utility that synchronizes two folders while encrypting the contents in one folder. That means one of the two folders has all files unencrypted (the files you work with) and the other folder has all the files encrypted.

The synchronization works both ways: a change in one folder gets synchronized to the other folder. If a file is added or modified in the unencrypted folder, it gets encrypted. If a file is added or modified in the encrypted folder, it gets decrypted to the other folder.
