What is Cilantro Money?

Cilantro is a read-only personal finance app that watches the accounts you already have and tells you what changed. No budgets to set up, no categories to tag, no dashboard you have to remember to open — connect once and it does the watching.

It's the inversion of budgeting apps like Mint, YNAB, Monarch, and Copilot: instead of asking you to do data entry, Cilantro surfaces only what's worth knowing.

What it catches: • Unusual charges - "usually $41 at this merchant, this one was $349." • Recurring-bill creep - when rent, utilities, or a subscription quietly goes up. • Duplicate charges - when something bills twice. • A one-line weekly verdict on your home screen - "14 things to check."

Trips, automatically: Cilantro detects trips from your lodging charge - no setup. A live card tracks spend while you're away, and a recap sums it up when you get home: categories, top merchants, outliers, and the full transaction list.

Variable income: Freelancers, consultants, and commission earners get a view a salaried dashboard can't show - this month's run-rate against your last 12 months, with lumpy income auto-detected.

Better with a partner: Invite your partner and joint accounts show up for both of you; private accounts stay private. See a charge you don't recognize? Flag it and ask them right inside the app. One subscription covers the whole household.

Privacy & control: Bank connections run through Plaid - the same provider behind Venmo and Robinhood. Cilantro is read-only: it never moves money, shows no ads, and sells no data. Per-account sharing controls and full in-app account deletion.

Free to try; Plus unlocks deeper insights and household features after a 7-day preview.
