What is Chimbalix?
Chimbalix distribution features:
- Developed for our own use.
- Autonomous and internet-independent: The distribution can be installed and fully used without internet access.
- x32 libraries out-of-the-box - allow you to run and use 32-bit software in a 64-bit OS.
- Waifu2X neural network in the context menu for fast image processing (removing noise and JPEG artifacts).
- Built-in Wine for running Windows applications and games (DXGL, DXVK, DXVK Serek, VKD3D).
- One-click screenshots - use ctrl / shift / ctrl+shift combinations with PrintScreen to quickly create screenshots.
- Image and video conversion utilities via the context menu.
- Installer-SH is the main independent method for distributing and installing software on the operating system. This format allows software distribution even on old floppy disks...
- Operating system updates are released as independent installation packages.
- Dependence on repositories and package managers is gradually being eliminated.
- By default, the "Start" menu has a nested structure.
Since development is primarily handled by one person, the distribution has many unfinished parts. Based on MX Linux.
