What is Carrosse?

Carrosse is a 2D CAD application written in Rust. The browser version compiles to WebAssembly and runs entirely client-side: DWG and DXF files are parsed on your own machine and never uploaded to a server.

It imports AutoCAD DWG files from 2000 through 2026 (AC1015 through AC1032), including geometry, layers, blocks with attributes, associative dimensions, hatches and linetypes. File units are preserved in both metric and imperial. Layouts, multileaders and 3D objects aren't supported yet, and the import summary reports what was skipped rather than dropping it silently.

It isn't only a viewer. You can draw, dimension, measure distances and areas, toggle layers, print to PDF at scale, and export to DXF. DWG is import-only — files go in, but Carrosse doesn't write DWG.

A desktop build for Windows and Linux is in development, aimed at structural steel detailing and construction estimating. The browser version is free.
