What is Budget Tamer?

Budget Tamer is a personal budgeting app that stores data on the phone without requiring an account, ads, tracking, or company cloud storage. Backups can be saved to a personal Google Drive or a selected folder. All features are available in a 35-day trial, followed by a one-time $14.99 purchase. Without purchasing, data remains viewable and can be exported as CSV.

The app supports weekly, monthly, yearly, and custom budgets, with rollover, category limits, previous-period views, and a daily allowance that accounts for unpaid bills. It includes multiple accounts and transfers, split transactions, payees, labels, templates, a quick-add widget, and duplicate-entry detection. It also tracks bills and subscriptions with reminders, loans and borrowing with interest, savings goals, home inventory, warranties, and receipt attachments.

Budget Tamer imports data from other budgeting apps and from CSV or Excel bank statements. It supports multiple currencies with automatic exchange rates, and provides net cash flow, savings rate, Safe to spend, and 15 reports, including a cash-flow diagram, spending calendar, month-in-review, and forward projection. An app lock and privacy mode can hide amounts.
