Brisync is described as 'Synchronize your external monitor brightness with built-in display. Application reads current brightness of your built-in display and passes it to external monitors via DDC interface. You can adjust brightness by menu in system status bar' and is an app. There are more than 50 alternatives to Brisync for a variety of platforms, including Windows, Linux, Mac, Android and Wayland apps. Twinkle Tray enables brightness control on external displays in Windows 10 & 11. Even th Windows is capable of adjusting the backlight on most monitors, it doesn't support external monitors natively.

Redshift adjusts the color temperature according to the position of the sun. A different color temperature is set during night and daytime.
