Comments and Reviews
We started looking at BILLmanager because ordinary billing software didn't really match the way a hosting and infrastructure business works. For us, billing isn't just about generating an invoice. We have recurring services, different tariffs, customer accounts, payments and service provisioning, so the billing system needs to be connected with what actually happens on the infrastructure side. That's where BILLmanager works well. We previously used WHMCS. It was capable enough, but we ended up doing quite a bit of additional configuration to connect billing with our infrastructure services. With BILLmanager, more of the hosting-specific workflow is already there. The tariff system is flexible, and the API is useful when we need to connect the billing platform with other systems. Once everything is configured, everyday work is pretty straightforward. The downside is the initial setup. Complex tariffs and integrations take time to configure, and some less common scenarios could use better documentation. I wouldn't choose BILLmanager for a business that only needs to send simple invoices. For hosting, cloud and infrastructure services, however, the additional functionality is useful rather than excessive.
