Belay information
What is Belay?
You start a long Claude Code task and walk away. Ten minutes later your Mac sleeps, the run dies, and you come back to nothing. So you set sleep to Never, forget to change it back, and your laptop cooks itself for a week.
Belay fixes exactly that and nothing else. It watches your local coding agents, holds the Mac awake while one of them is working, and lets go the moment the work stops. Your energy settings are never touched, so nothing is left misconfigured if Belay is not running.
Built-in detection for Claude Code, plus presets for Codex CLI, Gemini CLI and Cline. Anything else can be handled by pointing Belay at a folder. Detection happens entirely on your Mac: no account, no telemetry, and your prompts and code are never read or sent anywhere.
Every hold expires by itself after 120 seconds unless Belay renews it, so a crash, a force quit or a kill leaves your Mac back to normal within two minutes.
Free, source available, seven languages, macOS 14 or later.
