Axion Downloads Organizer is a smart Windows utility that automatically keeps your Downloads folder organized without any manual effort. Running quietly in the system tray, it monitors your Downloads folder in real time and instantly sorts newly downloaded or renamed files into the appropriate folders based on customizable rules.

Out of the box, Axion includes a comprehensive organization system covering hundreds of file extensions. Files are automatically categorized into folders such as Pictures, Videos, Audio, Documents, Archives, Applications, Databases, Microsoft Office files, Source Code, Fonts, eBooks, 3D Models, and more. Missing folders are created automatically whenever needed.

Axion also includes intelligent image handling. Instead of relying solely on file extensions, it can inspect image dimensions to distinguish app icons from regular images. Small PNG and ICO files are automatically recognized as icons and placed in a dedicated App Icons folder, while larger images can be categorized as wallpapers or other image types.

The organization system is fully customizable through a simple JSON-based rules engine. Users can create new rules, modify existing ones, change destinations, disable categories, or reorder rules to fit their workflow. Rules are processed from top to bottom, giving users complete control over how files are organized.

To ensure reliability, Axion ignores temporary browser download files, avoids processing files that are still being written, and provides multiple conflict-resolution options when duplicate filenames are encountered. Files can be automatically renamed, overwritten, or skipped based on user preference.
