It's open source and it works great!

Leaving a negative comment, not because Aegis is bad, but because it's still not a good competitor/alternative to everything Authy offers in terms of convenience (iOS app, and desktop/Windows app). With these two, Aegis would NO DOUBT be the best out there.

I chose it because it is private, open, simpler and versatile, in my opinion

Ente is miles better than most 2fa services atm and is completely open source and ad free

Not to mention it now has proper cross device support with its own desktop application, following authys own 2fa being discontinued

Really happy with this dev team imo the best 2fa service you can get atm

FOSS alternative to Authy with mobile and website token sync. Can also import/export keys. Only question is how long Ente will keep the service free.

    Authenticator Extension vs Authy Comments
    TRShadow
    Positive
    1

It is one of the best 2FA alternatives that can be used on a PC. Authy is doing this on mobile because it does not have mobile support. On the PC, the Authenticator is the best option. Cloud support, encrypted backup, and a clipboard have features such as copying. There is also an automatic filling option for 2FA fields, but in some cases, it fills information on other fields.
