What is attention awareness?

attention awareness is a free Mac application that blocks specific apps and websites on an iPhone. Users connect their iPhone to a Mac, select the apps or websites to block, and the application puts the iPhone into Apple's supervised mode with a secure profile. No additional software is installed on the iPhone, and the block can only be removed via the Mac.

The application can block any App Store application or website, with default options including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and X. Users can also add other apps or websites. The application secures Apple's adult website filter so it can't be deactivated and doesn't erase any data from the iPhone. A trial mode is available to test the application's blocking capabilities. The application can be used on any iPhone and doesn't require an MDM server.

To use Attention Awareness, users need a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 14 or later, and it supports iOS 27 and previous versions. Users should back up their iPhone before using the application. The block can only be removed by erasing the iPhone or removing the profile with Apple Configurator on a Mac.
