One Sec is the best current alternative to Ascent. They are the two apps I could find on android whose core feature is to offer a thoughtful pause before opening an app. One Sec is more useful if you want cross-platform web integration, Ascent is more useful if you want features like customizable, thoughtful reminders or to offer shortcuts to more valuable apps/websites when you open an app.
