What is AppVoid?

AppVoid is a new application designed to assist you in managing your Mac and its applications. A few specific things AppVoid does.

  • Identify the tech stack, see the technology that renders the User Interface, such as optimized native SwiftUI + AppKit apps or even + UIKit (iOS app on macOS), to niche cross platform tech such as wxWidgets, or Object Pascal(if you have any!), and more. over 40 tech stacks and counting!

  • Find duplicate apps, including the latest version of an app, and if it is Apple Silicon or Intel x86_64 ( or even older )

  • Make an educated choice when choosing between alternatives. Such as opting SwiftUI or AppKit native apps over bloated cross platform apps.

  • Problem with app launch failing? AppVoid tells you if an app:

  • is quarantined/blocked by gatekeeper,

  • has incorrect permissions, preventing launch

  • or if it’s simply invalid-and whether it’s an invalid symlink or bundle is corrupted, AppVoid tells you everything.

  • Monitoring App Permissions: AppVoid allows you to see the permissions that apps request from you. It provides a comprehensive overview of all your apps and the types of permissions they require, such as Full Disk Access, System Administration, Location (Always), or Downloads folder access. AppVoid categorizes these permissions based on the number of requests, making it easier to manage your privacy settings.

  • Identify all Sandboxed vs Non-Sandboxed apps instantly! Apple platforms are known for being very secure and sandbox takes it a step further, these apps are specifically prohibitted from making system changes. Any app on the App Store is Sandboxed, including AppVoid!

  • Categorizing Apps for Easy Identification: AppVoid categorizes apps based on their categories, such as Photography, Utilities, and more. It presents a wide range of probable categories for apps, even if they don’t have a category listed in their metadata. AppVoid’s in-app exclusive database of extra categories and identifiers helps it categorize the vast majority of apps accurately.

AppVoid is a unique application, for developers and fellow Apple enthusiasts. It shows you many things such as which apps on your Mac are going to run with the best performance via SwiftUI & AppKit. Take full advantage of the massive optimizations Apple has dedicated into Swift. After you run a scan with AppVoid, you’re more than likely to realize what certain applications have in common, "These apps all feel similar.. it's because of Java!" You’ll notice this about nearly every UI Framework that AppVoid categorizes! It truly is game changer
