What is MediaChips?
MediaChips is a desktop app for organizing local media libraries. It helps you tag, filter, preview, and browse videos, images, audio, and text files that already live on your disks or NAS — with no accounts, no cloud, and no data collection.
Unlike media servers focused mainly on streaming, MediaChips centers on library management: a flexible custom metadata system (“chips”), detailed filters and sorting, rich preview modes, a built-in player with timeline markers, path-based tagging/automation, scrapers, and import tools for Stash, Jellyfin, Plex, and Emby. It runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux, and also supports Docker for NAS setups, plus LAN access in a browser.
Key features:
Custom metadata / tags (chips), including nested fields and custom categories Advanced filters, sorting, grouping, and saved filter presets Preview modes: storyboard, timeline scrub, inline video preview Built-in player with bookmarks, markers, and clip playback by tag Path tagging, automation, scrapers, and library imports (Stash / Jellyfin / Plex / Emby) Multiple databases, bulk editing, backups LAN sharing and Docker/NAS support Open source, fully local

THIS is the app i have been waiting for my whole Porn Life! Tags, Pages, Meta data, ... It turns your library into something that feels like a website. Its AWESOME
I don't normally leave reviews, but since I'm so happy with MediaChips, I registered here to support the manufacturer. Amazing software. This is exactly what I've been looking for for a long time. What is amazing is the ability to adapt the software to your own wishes and needs. I am completely satisfied. I have tested many other providers and no provider has convinced me so much. The support is also very good. The key arrived very quickly and my questions were answered nicely, quickly and competently. Thank you for your work and keep it up.
An excellent application with great potential for development. When minor bugs will be fixed and the possibility to work with text documents (especially fb2/epub) and tags for mp3 files will be added, the program will be worthy of the highest praise. It works fast, there were no crashes. There is still a slight lack of greater customization for apperence and some design improvement but I hope it will be in the future.
Nobody pointed it so I guess this should be said, it only works with Windows 10 upwards.
The app is very user-friendly and easy to use. Although it is still in beta, there are already many useful options for organizing videos. I absolutely love the design of the app and very much look forward to future updates! I definitely recommend giving the app a try!
For many years I have been looking for a good video asset manager. I bought Kyno but it has been abandoned in terms of development. Adobe Bridge does not display video thumbnails, Premiere Elements catalog is slow, etc. Finally, I found Mediachips, which really offers everything I need and more. I hope the author won't abandon it because it is really the best program that exists for organizing video files.
Great and fast support from developer with a request I had. Software itself is the best I have found! Recommended
