The developer lolcat (u/Main_Attention_7764 on Reddit) uses this codebase and his other projects/platforms to push authoritarian messaging. The codebase is available to audit on their private git server, but anyone interested in privacy and anonymizing their internet presence should be wary of code written by someone who promotes authoritarian views.

What is 4get?
This is a metasearch engine that gets results from other engines, and strips away all of the tracking parameters and Microsoft/globohomo bullshit they add. Most of the other alternatives to Google jack themselves off about being ""privacy respecting"" or whatever the fuck but it always turns out to be a total lie, and I just got fed up with their shit honestly. Alternatives like Searx or YaCy all fucking sucks so I made my own thing.

An easy to configure meta-search engine that is also light on resources. Uses minimal JS and most instances have a Tor version available. Be wary that high traffic instances have a plain image captcha wall on searches based on the webmaster's interests.
Was a pretty solid search engine until one of the bot-prevention captchas had a cropped depiction of a bird seductively showing it's cloaca. If you don't mind that along with all these other reviews about being right-winged, then feel free to try this service.

A lightweight, privacy focus and fast open source search engine. You can select a wide range of providers as search, images, and news.
It just needs multi language and regional support in the settings and it would be the perfect search engine for me.

Funny little (literally lightweight) search engine that definitely delivers its promise: grab search results from other search engines (even
Brave Search ) without compromising your privacy.
Note that some instances may be slow, push anti-robot captchas out, and/or just not workable with certain scrapers. There are instances out there that'll play better than others, so experiment with that if you need to for a smooth experience.
