Claude can work in background windows on macOS desktops
Claude Cowork and Claude Code can now use computer in the background to click, type, open apps, work with files, and run development tools when connectors or browser tools are not suitable.
On macOS 15 or later, the beta feature can operate in background windows without taking over the user's pointer or keyboard.
It is available in the macOS desktop app for Pro and Max plans, with per-app permission prompts and safety controls for direct screen interaction.
