Apple unveils major Creator Studio update with cinematic video, new templates, and more

Apple has introduced comprehensive updates to its Creator Studio suite, expanding professional capabilities across its creative application lineup. The update brings end-to-end cinematic video editing to Final Cut Pro and Motion, enabling editors to apply cinematic mode effects to footage captured natively on the iPhone 18 Pro, including adjustable focus points and depth of field directly within the timeline. Meanwhile, Pixelmator Pro receives significant enhancements on both Mac and iPad, introducing edge-refinement tools for selecting complex subjects like hair and fur, plus new template collections spanning sports, business launches, and podcast cover artwork.

The productivity applications are also receiving substantial upgrades aimed at streamlining collaborative workflows. Keynote now offers intelligent slide generation that automatically creates presentation-tailored images, while Pages gains a screen view mode optimized for focused writing. Freeform, Apple's digital whiteboard app, sees perhaps the most extensive updates: dark mode compatibility, folder-based organization for boards, and writing tools powered by Apple Intelligence capable of rewriting, proofreading, and summarizing handwritten notes. The update additionally deepens visionOS 27 integration, allowing users to extract multiple elements from boards, including 3D models, into immersive spatial environments.
