Apple unveils major updates to Creator Studio with MotionVFX, video assets and AI features
Apple has announced a broad refresh of Apple Creator Studio, its subscription bundle of creative applications for Mac, iPad, and iPhone, headlined by built-in MotionVFX content in Final Cut Pro, a new intelligent assistant in Logic Pro, and generative image tools in Pixelmator Pro. According to the company's newsroom post, Final Cut Pro for Mac now ships with MotionVFX, a collection of visual effects, plug-ins, transitions, templates, and motion graphics tools, alongside tighter integration with Pixelmator Pro for editing. Apple's curated Content Hub, previously focused on still assets, now includes video assets and is accessible from within Final Cut Pro. The announcement also references new Final Cut Pro capabilities, including keyframe easing, clip disconnection, and language transcription.
Music and image workflows received comparable attention. Logic Pro for Mac gains an intelligent assistant, currently in beta, along with an enhanced stem splitter that Apple says can now separate drums, and a redesigned browser that consolidates all sounds and adds music understanding plus a splice library. Pixelmator Pro introduces generate fill, which lets users transform selected regions of an image using natural-language prompts. In the productivity tier, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers add AI features in beta, including assistants described as understanding document context, plus support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for workflow automation, stock video in the Content Hub, and new premium themes and templates.
“This is our most exciting update since the launch of Apple Creator Studio”, said Brent Chiu-Watson, Apple's senior director of Worldwide Product Marketing for Apps and iCloud, adding that the assistant capabilities in Logic Pro, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers would “change the game for how people interact with and learn to use these apps”.
