TikTok code reveals plans for peer-to-peer payments via direct messages

According to Bloomberg, code found in TikTok's U.S. iOS app suggests the platform is developing a feature that would let users send money to each other via direct messages.

Senders would get transaction notifications, and receivers could accept payments with a single tap.

The system, reportedly linked to TikTok Pay, is not yet available in the U.S. and has not been confirmed for launch.
