Google Health finally adds two-way Apple Health sync for importing & exporting health data

Google Health has released version 5.05 with two ways Apple Health syncing on iPhone, allowing the app to both import HealthKit data and export Google Health and Fitbit Air data to Apple Health. Previously, users could read information from Apple Health but couln't send Fitbit data back, often requiring third party syncing tools or indirect integrations.

Users can now transfer exercise records, steps, sleep, vitals, and other Fitbit metrics to Apple Health, where they can also be accessed by compatible apps based on the permissions selected. The feature can be enabled from the profile menu under “Partner apps” and Apple Health. New users can authorize individual data categories during setup, while existing users can review and expand their permissions.

Version 5.05 also introduces Smart Health Links in the United States, allowing users to share selected medical records with healthcare providers or family members through a URL or QR code. The update also fixes stability issues affecting VO2 max calculations, exercise maps, and workout editing. Google Health 5.05 is available on iOS, while Apple Health syncing remains exclusive to iPhone.
