Apple Maps ads begin rolling out in the US and Canada
Apple has officially started rolling out integrated ads in Apple Maps on iPhone in the United States and Canada, with availability expanding to more users over the coming weeks. The company originally announced the change in March, when it said Maps advertising would arrive in both countries during the summer.
Ads can appear in two parts of the Maps search experience. Suggested Places may include sponsored listings before a search is entered, while relevant ads can also appear alongside regular businesses in search results. Sponsored listings look similar to standard Maps results but are identified by a small blue “Ad” badge.
Apple says users’ locations and the ads they view or interact with are not associated with their Apple Account. Personal data remains on the device and is not collected, stored, or shared with third parties for Maps advertising. Businesses can now book ads through Apple Business, with Apple currently offering a promotional deal for advertisers.

TIL: Apple is greedy.
"Apple annual gross profit for 2025 was $195.201B, a 8.04% increase from 2024."
Yup. It's not necessity. It's greed.
