Music sreaming service Qobuz unveils redesigned app with new player and real-time lyrics

Qobuz has launched a major update to its mobile and tablet application, featuring a redesigned player experience and the introduction of real-time synchronized lyrics. The refreshed player interface delivers more intuitive navigation, with dynamic visuals that adapt to each album's artwork. Users can now control playback with a mini-player that stays visible across app navigation. On tablets, a split-screen mode allows continued listening while exploring the app, and queue management has been improved with swipe gestures for reordering or removing tracks.

Following these visual and functional upgrades, Qobuz users now gain access to lyrics that scroll line-by-line in real time, including translations to aid understanding. Dedicated playlists let users discover and sing along with highlighted tracks. The listening queue and autoplay features have also been overhauled, with the next three upcoming tracks always shown to help users anticipate what's next. These backend updates are complemented by customizable mini-player controls; users can now select which three functions remain accessible without leaving their current screen.

To further support discovery, the updated Explore section presents curated recommendations based on the current track, including related albums, artists, and editorial content. The new credits layout provides detailed artist and recording information, supporting engagement by allowing users to follow or like artists directly from the player.
