Immich 3.1 adds new filtering options, wakelock, map date range & better OAuth integration

Immich 3.1 has arrived, introducing several updates for users managing photos and videos on this self-hosted, open source platform. The web interface now acquires a wakelock during uploads, preventing the screen from dimming, but this feature requires an HTTPS connection. Following these web improvements, users can now undo asset archiving directly from a success notification. Asset file filtering offers new flexibility by allowing filters based on the actual server path in addition to original file names.

In addition, a new workflow filter enables searching for assets by EXIF metadata fields, initially supporting string comparisons with future support for numerical filters expected. OAuth integration receives an update as well, now syncing the isAdmin status for both new and existing users based on single or multiple role claim values. For administrators, the command line password reset feature now permits invalidating existing sessions, adding another security safeguard.

Meanwhile, mobile users benefit from date range filtering on the map view, matching recent web capabilities. Other tweaks include the addition of maintenance page access to the command palette and updated slideshow controls with improved visibility on light backgrounds. These changes reflect an ongoing focus on user control, discoverability, and streamlined administration across platforms.
