Grok launches Build Mode, a vibe coding tool for creating apps from natural language

Grok has introduced Build Mode, a new AI-powered tool that lets users create websites, apps, games, and dashboards through natural language prompts. • The launch moves Grok into the growing “vibe coding” market, competing directly with tools like Claude Artifacts or ChatGPT Codex.

Users describe an idea in chat, and Build Mode generates the code while displaying a working preview inside the conversation. The preview updates as users refine layouts, add features, or restyle the interface through additional prompts, with no development tools or technical setup required. It supports landing pages, portfolios, planners, trackers, simulations, utilities, games, and interactive dashboards connected to business data sources.

Completed projects can be published through grok.me links or custom domains and shared with anyone. Build Mode is currently available in Early Beta to SuperGrok Heavy subscribers on grok.com and the Grok apps for iOS and Android through the Build option in the mode switcher.

It's fascinating to see how quickly this category is evolving. Just a year ago these tools could generate small snippets of code, and now they're building complete interactive apps. Competition between Grok, ChatGPT, and Claude should only make these tools better.
