Sync-in 2.4 released with support for Euro-Office, task cancellation, and ZIP archives
Sync-in 2.4 is now available as the latest release of this open source, self-hosted platform for file storage, synchronization, and team collaboration.
Among the core changes, Sync-in introduces support for Euro-Office as an online document editor, expanding user choice beyond OnlyOffice and Collabora. Editor settings are now consolidated under a single configuration section, with previous OnlyOffice and Collabora-specific settings remaining valid but marked as deprecated.
For secure deployments, administrators gain the ability to require OpenID Connect users to have a verified email address before linking accounts or syncing profiles.
Following these changes, users can now cancel uploads, downloads, archive creation, extraction, file copies, moves, and deletions directly from the task panel. At the same time, file-related operations are now queued and limited per user, which helps prevent too many intensive processes from running simultaneously. When possible, long-running tasks show more detailed progress indicators rather than just reporting a generic running state.
Building on archive features, Sync-in now supports ZIP archive creation alongside the prior TAR and TGZ options. This release also delivers general bug fixes and security updates.
