Pinterest launches its 'Ask Pinterest' chatbot and new AI tools for advertisers
Pinterest has launched Ask Pinterest, an experimental AI app for conversational shopping and product discovery. The standalone tool lets users ask natural language questions through a chatbot-like interface, making it better suited for complex, multi-step requests than a regular keyword search. Example uses include planning a dinner party, finding product inspiration, or getting guidance on furniture and interior design choices.
The app uses Pinterest’s Taste Graph and can draw from a user’s saved Pins and Boards to personalize recommendations. It can also retain context across sessions, which could help with longer planning or shopping tasks. Ask Pinterest is currently available in limited web access on mobile and desktop, and will serve as a testing ground for AI features that may later reach the main Pinterest app.
Pinterest also announced new AI tools for advertisers, including a beta AI assistant in Ads Manager in the U.S. and a global Performance+ model that helps select the ad creative most likely to perform well. The company also introduced Pinterest Model Context Protocol, which allows advertisers to manage and monitor campaigns through third-party agentic tools in a standardized way.
