Perplexity Computer adds hybrid agentic inference for local and cloud AI

Perplexity has announced hybrid agentic inference for Perplexity Computer.

This feature lets the system automatically split tasks between a local AI model and cloud-based frontier models, keeping sensitive data on the user's device and optimizing token efficiency.

The new architecture is compatible with both Intel and NVIDIA chips and will be available in July.
