Claude Design gains design system consistency, Claude Code integration, and new connectors
Anthropic has released a major update to Claude Design, its AI-driven tool for creating visual prototypes from natural language prompts that was introduced two months ago. This latest version introduces an overhauled design system import process, allowing users to flexibly integrate one or multiple design systems from GitHub repositories, design files, or direct uploads. Claude now checks imported components against your system and automatically corrects outputs before presenting them, reducing errors and enhancing precision.
Following these workflow improvements, seamless integration with Claude Code enables users to sync projects between design and code. The new /design-sync command lets developers start from their real design components, while handoff to Claude Code supports incremental software development without needing to recreate work. Terminal-based workflows are now supported as well: users can create, edit, and sync projects entirely from the command line using the /design command.
Alongside greater flexibility, Claude Design now offers direct, fine-grained control within its redesigned editor, featuring advanced layout tools such as drag, resize, and align functions. Stability has been improved through hundreds of fixes, enhancing reliability during complex tasks. Usage limits are now shared across Claude Design, chat, Claude Cowork, and Claude Code, providing most users with increased capacity.
These enhancements are rounded out by expanded export options, including reliable PDF and PowerPoint support and new connectors for Adobe, Canva, Miro, and additional platforms.
