Omarchy 4.5 adds floating desktop mode, Apple Silicon support, and major AI agent upgrades
Omarchy 4.5, also known as Quattro RS, is now available with major desktop improvements, expanded hardware support, and new applications. The release introduces a traditional floating desktop mode alongside tiling and scrolling layouts, with a dock, window controls, and per-workspace layout switching. Native installation is now supported on M1, M2, M3, and Neo MacBooks, while a new ARM ISO adds preliminary support for NVIDIA DGX Spark and N1X devices. Omarchy also expands localization to 50 languages, adds five Asian language input methods, and introduces automatic detection of captive Wi-Fi portals.
The update introduces several new applications, including Hype for presentations, Signed for PDF signatures, Disktree for disk analysis, Monologue for camera recording, Gliff for remote desktop access, and Elsewhen for world clocks. Microsoft 365 apps can now be installed as standalone web apps, while Superwhisper becomes the default dictation engine with cloud and local transcription options. Omarchy also expands its AI agents panel from six to 23 supported agents and providers, adds a dropdown terminal for quick agent access, and introduces multiple account management for Claude, Codex, and Grok, including automatic switching when approaching usage limits.
Performance improvements include a redesigned installer that uses prebuilt system images, reducing typical installation times by approximately 50%, with a reported seven-second installation on AMD hardware. Startup, menus, terminals, and shutdown operations have also been optimized, alongside redesigned notifications with grouping and interactive actions. Other additions include video wallpapers, animated theme introductions, new Jade Horse and Starship themes, the Liftoff default wallpaper, and a reduced boot menu timeout of one second instead of six.
