KeePass 2.62 released with enhanced UI, new XPath extensions, and integration enhancements

The developers of the KeePass password manager have announced the release of version 2.62, a stable update recommended for all users of previous 2.x versions. While not introducing major groundbreaking changes, the new release focuses on refining the user interface, improving integrations with modern browsers and operating systems, and adding various practical enhancements to the long-standing password management tool.

Among the notable new features are two XPath extension functions, kp:matches for regular expression testing and kp:string-compare for lexicographic string comparisons, which expand search capabilities within databases. Security-conscious users will appreciate the improved integrity checking through hashes, digital signatures using Authenticode, and the disabling of legacy SSL 3 protocol support on older .NET versions. The update also adds better compatibility declarations for Windows, including ARM64 native support without x64 emulation, DPI awareness, and updated operating system version declarations in the application manifest. Browser integration receives attention with support for opening URLs in private mode through LibreWolf and R3dfox.

The release includes additional polish across the board, from improved list view refresh performance and clipboard clearing reliability to enhanced HTML export formatting. Hashes and signatures are available for download integrity verification, and new translations have been added. As always, users are encouraged to donate if they appreciate the continued development of this popular open-source password manager.
