iOS 27.3 beta introduces a redesigned Apple Health app with expanded language support
In a move to democratize health insights globally, Apple today announced that its redesigned Health app will expand language support to over 10 languages, including global English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish, and Vietnamese. The update aims to bring powerful, personalized health insights to millions of people worldwide, with the redesigned experience powered by Apple Intelligence at its core. The app dynamically adapts to individual health metrics across iPhone and iPad, offering actionable guidance on optimizing daily routines alongside a comprehensive view of long-term wellbeing.
The overhaul introduces several notable features, including a new insights' tab that surfaces timely summaries spanning heart health, sleep, readiness, fitness, vitals, and cycle tracking throughout the day. A dedicated “For You” section delivers intelligent, habit-based recommendations, such as practical guidance to adjust evening routines following consecutive nights of interrupted sleep. Perhaps most significant is the introduction of at-home movement evaluations, which allow users to measure flexibility, strength, balance, movement mechanics, and VO2 max using just an iPhone camera and Apple Watch, with real-time audio and visual feedback. Powered by on-device vision-based AI models developed with clinical experts, the evaluations run entirely on device; no video is ever recorded, stored, or shared.
Additionally, a new longevity tab analyzes longitudinal metrics across heart health, sleep, mental wellbeing, movement, metabolic health, hearing, and nutrition, anchored by a “Health Age” feature that translates Apple Watch data, including VO2 max, resting heart rate, sleep, and heart rate variability, into a metric reflecting how a user's body tracks relative to their chronological age. Users can also incorporate clinical laboratory data, such as A1c and LDL cholesterol, to enrich their long-term health picture. The redesigned Health app is available in the iOS 27.3 developer beta starting today and will roll out to all users as a free software update later this year, with Apple committed to continuing language expansion in future releases.
