eM Client 11 arrives with major architectural overhaul, Matrix chat support, and eM Sync
Email client eM Client has officially released version 11, marking one of the most significant updates in the software's history. The new version introduces native support for both ARM and 64-bit processors, delivering improved performance for large mailboxes and more battery-efficient operation on ARM-based devices. Under the hood, eM Client 11 now runs on a new [Chromium] render core, making the application faster, more responsive, and better equipped to handle complex message rendering. The update also shifts to an MSIX installer format for Windows, which downloads only necessary components for specific processors during updates, significantly reducing installation size and time compared to the previous MSI format.
One of the most critical changes comes in the form of MS Graph support, which replaces Exchange Web Services (EWS) as Microsoft began sunsetting EWS for Microsoft 365 accounts on October 1, 2026. Users upgrading from previous versions will be able to migrate their existing EWS and personal Microsoft account setups during initial startup. Beyond infrastructure updates, the release adds several productivity-focused features including Matrix chat support, a command palette for quick navigation, message pinning capabilities, and customizable account colors. A brand-new eM Sync service was introduced to securely synchronize settings and accounts across all devices. The rules engine received a complete UI redesign with expanded actions and new invocation options, allowing users to schedule rule execution when archiving messages or every 10 minutes for continuous mailbox management.
As with most software updates this day, eM Client 11 also includes many new AI features: there's a built-in AI assistant in the sidebar, the AI composer has been redesigned, a new summarization option has been added, and you can also tell eM Client to write in your style, so it actually sounds like you. The email client can also suggest you quick replies based on the email's context, and [Model Context Protocol (MCP)] support has been added. In addition, the update also brings calendar improvements with multiple reminders and easier timezone management, AppleScript and Spotlight support, and many other enhancements.
