Claude introduces MCP Apps to interact with apps like Canva, Asana, Slack, Figma, and more
Anthropic has introduced a major update to Claude, now enabling users to open and interact with third-party tools like Asana, Slack, Canva, and Figma directly within the conversational interface. For users managing projects, this update allows them to build and update Asana timelines, draft and preview formatted Slack messages, or visualize ideas in Figma without leaving their current chat.
Beyond simply connecting to existing tools, Claude now embeds these tool interfaces live in each conversation. This means actions performed in Asana, Slack, or Figma can be seen and managed in real time, supporting collaborative decision-making and rapid iteration. Users can also link Claude to a wide set of platforms, including Amplitude, Box, Clay, Hex, and monday.com, broadening potential workflows.
Building on these capabilities, a Salesforce integration is planned. With Agentforce 360, enterprise teams will soon be able to access unified context and manage their activities within Claude. The technology underlying these features is the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which establishes an open standard for connecting AI tools. MCP Apps further extends this by making interactive app interfaces usable in any MCP-supporting AI product, not just Claude.
Currently, these enhanced features are available on the web and desktop for Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users, with support for Claude Cowork coming soon.
