Windows 11 latest builds implement new dark mode improvements to improve consistency
Recent preview builds of Windows 11 reveal that Microsoft is working on improving its dark mode to more areas of the system and addressing inconsistencies that have existed since it first appeared in Windows 10. The most visible change is in file operation dialogs where copying, moving and deleting files now display with a dark background instead of the usual light theme, creating a more uniform experience for dark mode users.
The update is still incomplete though, as the dialogs keep light-colored action buttons that disrupt the theme. Microsoft has not officially announced these improvements, suggesting they are being quietly tested in preview releases.
These changes are expected to arrive with the Windows 11 25H2 update later this year, though legacy components like the Control Panel, Run prompt, and file properties windows remain in light mode with no signs of being updated, suggesting that Microsoft’s long-running struggle to deliver a consistent visual design will likely continue in a way that has by now become almost characteristic of the OS itself.

LOL! reminds me of that episode of south park where that one kid was goin around saying, "simpson's did it!" you'd think a paid OS like windows would be on the cutting edge of things. not even a little bit..
Now that the UI is starting to get usable they'll drop it remake everything in a new framework called something like "WinOne Copilot UI+ 720"
As a fan of dark themes, one of the things that impressed me most about going Windows 11 - MacOS was how consistent dark mode was. Linux wasn't too bad, either, but it didn't quite impress me as much. MacOS just has a really nice dark mode, and because of the ecosystem it's really rare to find apps that don't have dark mode on MacOS. Even programs that I use on both Windows and MacOS the windows one will be blinding white with zero options and the MacOS version will have a nice dark theme/mode.
wow, it only took them 9 quadrillion years to do what rectify11 and other quite simplistic msstyles (3rd party themes) have been doing for years
thats microsoft for you, they are too slow and lazy to implement such simple feature
