Microsoft Teams introduces Storyline, a personal feed for internal professional updates

Microsoft Teams has introduced Storyline, a new feature that brings a social media style feed for professional updates directly into the platform. With Storyline, users can share posts, articles, and updates in a way similar to LinkedIn or Viva Engage, but contained within their own organization. This addition allows staff to broadcast work achievements, lessons learned, or team acknowledgements — all from a space linked to their individual identity, rather than group chats or team channels.

Storyline functions as a personal feed, enabling users to follow their coworkers and company leaders. When someone they follow shares a Storyline post, it appears in their activity feed, keeping them in touch with organizational news and professional insights. Users can create posts resembling blog updates or short articles, allowing them to engage audiences and foster knowledge sharing throughout the company.

Beyond regular content sharing, Storyline posts are also available in the user's chat with self, providing a private area to reflect on personal progress or manage shared content. Designed as a lightweight, human-centered tool, Storyline positions itself as an internal LinkedIn wall for sharing knowledge and personal growth moments, fully integrated into the Teams workspace.
