PeaZip 10.5 released with file manager performance boost, hidden files visibility and more

PeaZip 10.5 has been released as the latest version of this open source file archiver utility. PeaZip 10.5 introduces major enhancements to its file manager, delivering faster archive browsing along with improved archive editing capabilities. The update also adds controls to prompt for confirmation before running files with selected extensions, supporting safer workflows. Users can now toggle the visibility of hidden files, offering more flexibility during file navigation.

While these core changes benefit all platforms, macOS users now have access to all file browser styles and icon sizes, achieving feature parity with Windows and Linux versions, and ensuring a consistent user experience across systems. Windows users receive notable upgrades as well. The new version supports exploration of NTFS Alternate Data Streams, allowing access to metadata associated with files. Dedicated batch tools have been introduced for scanning Zone.Identifier (Mark of The Web), which helps identify files originating from remote systems and assists in security checks.

Additionally, the PeaZip 10.5 source code is now compiled with Lazarus 4.x. Compatibility with earlier Lazarus versions, specifically 3.x and 2.x, remains for contributors and developers following the project.
