Spotify unveils personalized Upcoming Releases hub with pre-save and Countdown features

Spotify has launched an Upcoming Releases hub to showcase albums set for future release. The hub uses listening history to highlight relevant albums and is available in the Search tab under Browse all in the mobile app.

Users can pre-save upcoming albums directly from the hub. Spotify will send a push notification on release day and automatically add the album to the user’s library. Each album in the hub features a Countdown Page, where users can view tracklists, listen to available singles, browse artist merchandise, and sample preview clips. A global top 10 Countdown list tracks the albums with the most pre-saves, adding a discovery element for trending releases.

Spotify is extending visibility for these features by launching weekly updated Countdown Charts on Instagram, TikTok, and X, highlighting the most pre-saved upcoming releases.
