Firebase Studio updates its app prototyping agent with Gemini 2.5 integration
Firebase Studio has integrated Gemini 2.5, Google's most advanced artificial intelligence model, into its App Prototyping agent. The update improves application reasoning, coding precision, and overall problem-solving. Generated apps feature cleaner, modern interfaces aligned with current web design standards. The platform also handles more complex tasks, such as multi-step AI workflows, advanced calculations, sound, and image processing. Coding performance has significantly improved based on benchmark results.
The App Prototyping agent now offers clearer, AI-driven explanations for changes made to project files, helping developers better understand and refine their apps. Firebase Studio also includes new UI optimizations tailored for mobile app development.
This upgrade is available to all users currently participating in the Firebase Studio preview. Since the preview launched a few weeks ago, developers have created more than 1.5 million workspaces, with use cases including e-commerce platforms, customer relationship management tools, educational and coaching apps, games, and sales planning tools.
