Apple Maps now features insights from external sources like Michelin Guide

Apple Maps is introducing a new way for users to discover top-rated restaurants, hotels, and golf courses by incorporating rankings and insights from expert sources. This update allows users in the United States to search for MICHELIN-starred, Green Star, and Bib Gourmand restaurants. They can also find MICHELIN Key hotels, with the promise that additional regions will gain access in the future.

Following the integration of expert data, place cards within Maps now display distinctions, descriptions, and images. This provides additional context and guidance directly within the app’s interface. For select properties, hotel bookings can be made without leaving Apple Maps, streamlining the reservation process. Building on this convenience, features such as restaurant reservations through MICHELIN and tee time bookings via Supreme Golf are scheduled to launch soon.

These enhancements are set to expand further, as rankings and insights from The Infatuation and Golf Digest will be integrated in upcoming updates. While these features roll out, users can apply search filters to discover places based on expert ratings and browse curated guides from partners including MICHELIN Guide, The Infatuation, and Golf Digest.
