GitHub Copilot now free in Windows Terminal Canary with AI-powered command suggestions

GitHub Copilot is now accessible for free in Windows Terminal Canary, allowing users to leverage AI-powered interactions directly within the terminal. This integration can be done via the Terminal Chat feature, where users can receive intelligent command suggestions and explanations without leaving the terminal environment. Both free and paid Copilot users can access this feature, although the free version allows up to 50 chat messages per month, with an option to upgrade for unlimited usage.

To use this feature, users need access to GitHub Copilot and the latest Canary build from the Windows Terminal GitHub repository. Setup involves navigating to Terminal Chat (Experimental) in the settings, selecting GitHub Copilot as the service provider, and authenticating with a GitHub login. Once configured, Copilot will be available in Terminal Chat, providing AI assistance for command inputs.
