AI powered transcription tool Superwhisper has officially launched a Windows version

After roughly ten months of beta testing following its announcement in February, Superwhisper has released its first Windows version. Previously limited to macOS and iOS, the app now supports Windows 10 and later in both x64 and ARM64 formats, runs from the system tray, and uses the Ctrl plus Space shortcut for voice input.

The AI powered dictation app employs speech recognition and large language models to transcribe speech, managing punctuation and formatting. The app keeps parity with most of its key features on macOS, like support for more than 100 languages, instant translation to English, audio file transcription, and AI modes that adapt the writing style.

These capabilities are available in a free tier, while a Pro subscription unlocks offline transcription, multiple AI output modes, and general file transcription. The Windows version, starting with release 1.0.2, includes a free trial for Pro features. Superwhisper has been one of the most popular AI transcription apps on macOS over the past year, and its arrival on Windows now puts it in direct competition with Microsoft’s built in voice tools as well as third party options like Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Braina, and newer AI transcription apps such as Wispr Flow or Otter.ai.
