Google Drive introduces differential file synchronization and enhanced Gemini integration
Google has introduced two notable updates to Google Drive aimed at enhancing user experience and efficiency. The first update involves the support for differential uploads, allowing Drive for desktop to upload only the modified portions of large files when they are edited. This feature promises significantly faster synchronization times and is available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace individual subscribers, and personal Google account users.
In addition, Google has enhanced the PDF viewing experience in Drive by integrating Gemini into Drive's overlay file previewer. This integration allows users to seamlessly switch between files while utilizing AI capabilities provided by Gemini. Users can efficiently navigate long and complex PDFs, create new content such as study guides or email drafts, and even summarize multiple files within a folder. These updates aim to streamline workflows and improve productivity for Google Drive users.
