Proton Drive introduces Docs, an encrypted alternative to Google Docs and Microsoft 365
Proton has announced the introduction of Docs in Proton Drive, a new feature that enables real-time collaboration on documents while maintaining full privacy. Built on Proton’s established privacy and security principles, Docs in Proton Drive uses end-to-end encryption to ensure all data remains secure. This includes not only the documents themselves, but also keystrokes and cursor movements.
Users can collaborate in real time, leave comments, add photos, and securely store files. This makes it a potential secure and private alternative for those currently using online document editors like Google Docs or Microsoft 365 for tasks such as writing reports, collaborating on projects, and keeping track of meeting notes.
Proton is rolling out Docs starting today, with the feature becoming available to all users over the next few days.
