OBS Studio 30.2 launched with Multitrack Streaming, Enhanced RTMP/FLV, & Composable Themes
OBS Studio 30.2.0 has been released, introducing several significant features including Multitrack Video Streaming support, also known as Enhanced Broadcasting on Twitch, which supports stereo or mono audio channels. This feature is currently available only to Windows users with specific NVIDIA or AMD GPUs, with plans for broader support in the future. When using Multitrack Video streaming, OBS will transmit system data to the streaming service at the start of a stream, including OBS version, audio/video settings, CPU, GPU, memory, OS, and Windows gaming feature status.
The update also brings Enhanced RTMP/FLV support, replacing the old "VOD Track" with multi-track audio and video. Additionally, a new Hybrid MP4 output format has been introduced, which is still in beta. This format combines the fault tolerance of fragmented MP4 with the speed and compatibility of regular MP4, and it allows for chapter markers via hotkey or API.
Linux users will benefit from added support for the native NVENC encoder, including NVENC AV1 and shared texture, as well as shared texture support for QuickSync and VA-API encoders. HEVC support has also been added to the WebRTC output. A new Composable Themes system has been introduced, simplifying theme creation and maintenance and allowing for future customization. The update introduces many more changes and bug fixes, which you can check in the official changelog.
