Qwant Maps, an online privacy-respecting Google Maps alternative, has been discontinued
Earlier this month, Qwant Maps, a free and privacy-respecting online map service built on OpenStreetMap by the creators of the Qwant search engine, was completely shut down. In a post on X, Qwant announced that following its acquisition by Synfonium, the Qwant Maps service was deactivated. Instead, a “maps module” has been integrated into the search function, though I was unable to access it when looking for places or addresses… Qwant stated that they are prioritizing enhancing the search experience with new features, while acknowledging that this decision may not be well-received by all users.
The discontinuation has disappointed many, as Qwant Maps served as a useful alternative to Google Maps. While there are several alternatives for iOS and Android, such as Magic Earth, OsmAnd, and Organic Maps, online alternatives are less prevalent. OpenStreetMap (OSM) and OpenStreetBrowser, which is based on OSM, are among the few options available. Other major services like Bing Maps, Yandex Maps, and HERE WeGo are sadly not known for their privacy-respecting policies.
For users seeking a handy map service integrated into their web browser, DuckDuckGo offers an online Apple Maps integration in its “Map” tab, which allow you to quickly check an address, a place, or an itinerary. Alternatively, OpenStreetMap remains a viable option, and you can even consider developing your own online map service based on it.
Don't hesitate to let us know in the comments what service you're using, or what's preventing you from using a particular mapping service.

Qwant has change a lot recently, integrating IA search resume wich is working great. Also generraly working better. They will announce other features in few times. The boss of OVH cloud is the new owner and he his working hard to propose a european alternative and privacy focused.
Qwant Maps is the only OpenStreetMap-based maps app that I consider has a good chance of competing with Google Maps. I hope they open source the app.
